Christians have been preparing for the celebration of Easter by walking through a holy Lent, patterned after Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, since ancient times. On Wednesday, February 14th, the season of Lent begins; we gather to repent, reflect, and to receive forgiveness. This short, in-person service of prayers and ashes begins at 7:00p in the sanctuary. There is optional childcare provided for infants and toddlers. Before the service at 6:15p, you are invited to a simple meal – chili, kid-friendly mac-n-cheese, bread, fruit, and Valentine’s cookies for dessert – in the fellowship hall. The youth and their families are hosting this meal as their first fundraiser for the service-learning trip to AMOS in Nicaragua this summer. Please let us know you’re coming to the meal so we can plan accordingly.
