SUMMARY:Ash Wednesday Service and Fundraiser Meal
DESCRIPTION:Christians have been preparing for the celebration of Easter by walking through a holy Lent\, patterned after Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness\, since ancient times. On Wednesday\, February 14th\, the season of Lent begins; we gather to repent\, reflect\, and to receive forgiveness. This short\, in-person service of prayers and ashes begins at 7:00p in the sanctuary. There is optional childcare provided for infants and toddlers. Before the service at 6:15p\, you are invited to a simple meal – chili\, kid-friendly mac-n-cheese\, bread\, fruit\, and Valentine’s cookies for dessert – in the fellowship hall. The youth and their families are hosting this meal as their first fundraiser for the service-learning trip to AMOS in Nicaragua this summer. Please let us know you’re coming to the meal so we can plan accordingly.
