Rev. Laura Harris-Adam (she/her) began her ministry at First Baptist Church of Ann Arbor in July 2026. Pastor Laura believes that everyone has a part to play in God’s mission and encourages all to share their unique gifts within and beyond the church. Committed to building bridges across all kinds of difference, she approaches ministry with empathy, curiosity, and thoughtfulness. Pastor Laura is passionate about fostering multicultural and intergenerational community.
Pastor Laura was born in Michigan and spent two decades in Chicago as an adolescent and young adult. She earned a B.A. in Religion and Art History from St. Olaf College in Minnesota and a M.Div. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Pastor Laura was ordained by North Shore Baptist Church on the northside of Chicago in May 2015. She has served churches in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Indiana and served two terms on the Board of Directors for the American Baptist International Ministries.
Pastor Laura enjoys reading memoirs, exploring city neighborhoods, trying new restaurants, and playing board games with her family. Pastor Laura and her spouse Josiah (Si) live in Ann Arbor with their two children.
