Good News Group/Habitat for Humanity
The Good News group, a partnership of about 20 Washtenaw County churches is renovating two houses on Clarita Street in the Nancy Park Subdivision of Ypsilanti. These houses sit next door to each another. Work has been underway since May. The First Baptist work day is Saturday, July 28. Work goes from 8 am to about 4 pm, but if you can only come for the morning or afternoon, that’s ok. Please let Scott Diels (email@example.com) or Mary Davis ( firstname.lastname@example.org) know if you are coming. Only folks 16 and over can work at Habitat sites. NO skills or experience required.
There are many ways to participate in our Good News House partnership. First Baptist provides a crew for at least one Saturday each summer. We do whatever kind of work is needed – from digging holes to putting up siding to painting and installing doors. Training is provided; no previous experience or skill is required. On that day, we also provide lunch for the work crew, so baking, shopping, and/or delivering lunch are great ways to participate. In addition to working on the houses, First Baptist also contributes financially to the cost of the build. Contact our coordinators for more information (Mary Davis, email@example.com and Scott Diels, firstname.lastname@example.org).
