Once when Henry James was saying goodbye to his nephews he offered this advice: “There are three things that are important in human life. The first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. The third is to be kind.”

The importance of kindness is worth repeating. As a little child in church I heard it very often. When we were still very young, they taught us tiny bits of scripture to learn by heart – they would help us to say them until the words were buried deep in us like seeds. I recall three sentences that had only three words each: “God is love”; “Love one another”; “Be ye kind.” Read the whole story…

Flower Planting Day June 4!

Join in from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, June 4, for planting of annuals and general garden clean-up.  Jobs for all ages, no experience required.  It’s an FBC family event, so of course there will be snacks.  Any questions, contact Scott Diels ( or 747-8131).

FBC Ladies’ Book Club

The FBC Ladies’ Book Club will meet on Tuesday, June 14th, at 7pm to discuss “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot.  Mary Davis will be hosting the meeting that night.  Please contact Janice Stumpf at or 663-4871 if you have any questions.

Children & Youth Worship

This Sunday, May 15, is Children and Youth Worship. The Worship service is planned and written by the Children and Youth with music from all age groups. Please join us!

ABWM Spring Donation Bake Sale

The AB Women’s Ministries will hold their Spring Donation Bake Sale on Sunday, May 15, in the Fellowship Hall. Please Join Us! The proceeds go towards the many ABWM projects.

Habitat for Humanity – Good News Houses 2011

Dates have been set for our weekend and weekday workdays with Habitat for Humanity.  The congregational word date is set for Saturday, June 11, starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 4:00 PM.  For those members with flexible weekday schedules, our work date is Tuesday, May 17.  Please contact Scott Diels if you are able to participate.
